  • Special Lectures- The Special Lecture Series is an integral part of the curriculum. In this programme the best of the academicians and other famous personalities deliver lectures on various topics. The special lectures series has been introduced to enhance academic experience and thereby enrich the students.

Department of English:

  • Prof. Kavita Panjabi, Department of Comparative Literature, Jadavpur University and Co-ordinator of the Centre for Studies in Latin American Literatures and Cultures (CSLALC) delivered the very first lecture of this series. She traced the evolution of Sufi poetry and shed light upon its relevance in the contemporary cultural scenario.

Department of Political Science:

  • ProfessorTridibChakraborti of the Department of International Relations, Jadavpur University inaugurated the Special Lecture series of the Political Science department with a lecture entitled 'Social and Political Ideas of M.N. Roy'. In his lucid and very absorbing presentation Professor Chakraborti spoke on the stages of M N Roy's ideological journey from nationalist to communist and finally radical humanist.

  • Professor Shyamal Roy delivered a lecture entitled 'Approaches to the Study of the Indian Constitution and Politics'

  • Prof. Purushottam Bhattacharya (Jadavpur University) and Prof. Sumit Mukherjee (Kalyani University) delivered the third and fourth special lectures of the department of Political Science. Prof. Purushottam Bhattacharya spoke on “Bankimchandra and Indian Nationalism” while Prof Sumit Mukherjee's lecture was on “Rabindranath’s Views On Nationalism And Culture.”
